John Anderson will be giving us a special treat during this Fall Concert, a rare acoustic performance…Imagine that Legendary voice, unplugged just for this event at Fredricks Outdoors…
John Anderson pushed himself to complete his vocals for Years, telling producer Dan Auerbach, “Let’s get everything because I might not wake up.”
It’s not an overstatement. In a risky procedure a few months earlier, when anesthesia was used, Anderson was told by doctors that he’d died on the operating room table. His wife told him that it had happened three times. That knowledge weighed heavily on the legendary country singer while writing and recording Years because he knew that his next appointment – just a few days after the sessions — would require the same anesthesia.
Remarkably, Anderson kept his health crisis a secret from his touring band and the music industry, and even now he prefers not to get into all of the details. However, his recovery has become his testimony.
“There’s a few things that I came out of this whole deal better with,” Anderson says. “Part of it is my love for music and part of it is my appreciation for my family. But the biggest part is knowing that I might die here any minute, for who knows what reason, but I know that the good Lord already came down and touched me. There’s not a doubt in my mind.”
During his health scare, he’d lost his sense of pitch and even his ability to recognize his own songs on the radio. At one point, his hearing left him with what he calls “terrible noise,” forcing him to come off the road for the first time in 40 years.
As a child growing up in Apopka, Florida, Anderson remembers humming along to the tone of his father’s boat motor. He started his music career performing solo around Florida before moving to Florida. He worked in construction – he was on the roofing crew for the new Grand Ole Opry House – before landing a contract with Warner Bros. Records.
After charting modestly in the late ‘70s, Anderson scored No. 1 hits in the ‘80s with “Wild and Blue,” “Swingin’,” and “Black Sheep.” After a brief career lull, he staged a major comeback in 1992 as “Straight Tequila Night” became his first No. 1 single in nine years. That momentum carried him into the 2000s, giving him 60 charting country singles in four consecutive decades.
“As a musician who lived this way, this job has always been so easy and so natural,” Anderson says. “I always have thanked God for never having to work, what I called work. I didn’t have to work too hard at it. It was a great way of living for me — and then it went away.”
Married since 1983, with two daughters, Anderson leaned on his family to push through. For a year and a half, though innumerable doctor’s visits, he fought on a daily basis to heal. He remembers at his most desperate moment, he stood in the front yard of his acreage, let the rain wash over him, and told God, “I don’t really know how much more I can deal with. Please help.”
Looking back at that moment, he says, “It was a matter of 48 hours I started getting better. And I’m telling you, I’m not here to be anything other than what I am, but the biggest thing I’ve gotten out of my whole experience is knowing how real my faith is.”
During his period of recovery, Anderson got a phone call out of the blue from Auerbach, who was simply calling as a fan, inspired by a conversation with David Ferguson (co-producer) about great singers. When Anderson later met them both in person at Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound studio in Nashville, they clicked as a unit immediately. On the spot, Anderson – a Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee — accepted an invitation to write the next day.
That first co-write yielded “Years,” an emotional centerpiece of the album sung from the perspective of a man with some miles on him. “I recall thinking to myself, ‘This is a pretty good song,’” Anderson says. “But we know there’s a lot of good songs that get written, and a lot of them never get heard. Nevertheless it was off to a good start.”
Auerbach kept setting writing dates with collaborators like Joe Allen, Pat McLaughlin, and Paul Overstreet. At Anderson’s request, Auerbach sang the work tapes. Instantly recognizing the caliber of the songs, Auerbach offered to make an album with studio players like Gene Chrisman, Dave Roe, Russ Pahl, Billy Sanford, and Bobby Wood. Although he had produced or co-produced his own albums since 1981, Anderson put his trust in Auerbach.
“I booked the session and here I’ve got a room full of musicians, and I really didn’t know if he was going to be able to hear in the headphones,” Auerbach remembers. “But we got him behind the microphone, he started singing and it was pure magic. His voice is like caramel magic coming out of those speakers.”
Listening to Anderson’s vocals on Years, it would be impossible to guess that anything was amiss. Delivered in that distinctive, rich baritone, “Celebrate” provides a perspective of gratitude while “Slow Down,” “All We’re Really Looking For” and “You’re Nearly Nothin’” are some of the most eloquent love songs he’s ever recorded.
Meanwhile, “I’m Still Hangin’ On” conveys the realities of a soldier living with PTSD, while “Tuesday I’ll Be Gone” – a breezy duet with good friend Blake Shelton – captures the joy of just getting away from it all. The rambling vibe of “Wild and Free” and irresistible rhythm of “What’s a Man Got to Do” feel like they’ve been in Anderson’s repertoire all along. Beyond Years, the sessions also yielded a rewarding new friendship between the artist and producer.
“John will sing it as many times as you want. He wants it to be great, but the thing is, once he starts singing, it’s almost right there, right from the first lick,” Auerbach says. “I feel incredibly lucky that I even had to the opportunity to make a record with John Anderson, let alone have all this meaning to it.”
Anderson adds, “We went in the studio, and I remember saying, ‘I’m going to do this like it might be my last.’ It still could be, but now the chances of that are getting slimmer and slimmer every day. I’m doing better so I’m not hardly thinking that way anymore. That’s a blessing, too.”

Paul Thorn has created an innovative and impressive career, pleasing crowds with his muscular brand of roots music – bluesy, rocking and thoroughly Southern American, yet also speaking universal truths. Among those who value originality, inspiration, eccentricity and character – as well as talent that hovers somewhere on the outskirts of genius, the story of Paul Thorn is already familiar. Raised in Tupelo, Mississippi, among the same spirits (and some of the actual people) who nurtured the young Elvis generations before, Paul Thorn has rambled down back roads and jumped out of airplanes, worked for years in a furniture factory, battled four-time world champion boxer Roberto Duran on national television, signed with and been dropped by a major label, performed [on stages with Bonnie Raitt, Mark Knopfler, Sting, and John Prine among many others, and made some of the most emotionally restless yet fully accessible music of our time. He’s also appeared on major television shows such as Late Night with Conan O’Brien and Jimmy Kimmel Live, been the subject of numerous National Public Radio (NPR) features and charted multiple times on the Billboard Top 100 and Americana Radio Charts. This year, Paul released an album titled Don’t Let the Devil Ride, which he describes as “the culmination of my whole life in music, coming back to my roots.” It marks his first time recording gospel music - featuring guests such as the Blind Boys of Alabama, the McCrary Sisters, and Preservation Hall Horns - and his creation of a body of strikingly original songs that address the foibles of human relationships without necessarily favoring the sacred over the profane.
Southern roots run deep in Lee Gibson’s veins and you see that on stage when he performs. Nashville-born but he was raised in the small town of Winchester, Tennessee, giving Gibson the humbleness that comes across on stage and his love for country music. Having been compared to Dwight Yoakam and Ronnie Dunn, Lee Gibson’s voice is powerful, clear and definitely country. With his influence, from these artists and so many more, Gibson pursued writing with some of the top Nashville songwriters. In 2001 he landed his first record deal and this put him on the stage with Randy Houser, Anthony Smith, Darryl Worley, T. Graham Brown, and even the late George Jones. As Lee Gibson steps on stage he does so with the experience he has gained over the years of working in the music business. His 6 foot 4 inch stature carries the deep richness in his voice as he sings to his audiences. As you walk into the venue you look on stage and Lee Gibson is performing. His voice carries through the sound system and you know you are about to see a great country singer on stage. His experience and talent shows through and the friendliness in his voice welcomes you to a seat. This is a Lee Gibson show. Quality, talent and pure country. Artists with whom Lee has performed: George Jones Randy Houser Darryl Worley Ronnie McDowell Rhett Akins Daryle Singletary T Graham Brown Steve Wariner Venues of interest where Lee Gibson has performed: Graceland Wildhorse Saloon CMA Fest Von Braun Civic Center Knuckleheads(KC,MO)

On the heels of sold-out shows throughout his solo acoustic tour and amid a heavy tour schedule that takes Tritt and his band across the country to play for packed out crowds, the Southern-rock influenced Country artist topped the SoundScan Top 200 Catalog Country Albums chart for 50 consecutive weeks. A Marietta, Ga. native, Travis Tritt is dubbed one of “The Class of ‘89,” which included Country music superstars Garth Brooks, Clint Black and Alan Jackson; all of whom dominated the charts in the early ‘90s. Among his eleven studio albums and numerous charted singles are nineteen Top 10 hits, including “Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde,” “Here’s A Quarter” and “It’s A Great Day To Be Alive.” His 25 year career has produced millions in album sales, two Grammy award wins and multiple No. 1 singles on the Country radio charts. On Nov. 18, Tritt is set to release a special live 2-disc CD and DVD, titled A Man and His Guitar – Live From The Franklin Theatre. For more information on Travis Tritt, visit his website TravisTritt.com and follow him on Twitter and Facebook.
Born in California, Ryan Couron is a natural country boy by God’s grace. When on stage, this 26-year-old melts his influences into a sound mixed with traditional country and southern-rock with a healthy twist of the new country music as well, contributing to the establishment of his strong fan base in the entire Arkansas area. Combined with his original songs, including the debut CD “Play What I Feel Like,” a comfortable and confident stage presence and strides toward a new direction, 2011 has been an outstanding year that has produced great progress in Ryan’s young career.
Ryan still resides in Benton, AR to take advantage of the resources country life has to offer. His musical style was influenced by such greats as: Chris LeDoux, Randy Travis, Travis Tritt, Alan Jackson and Hank Williams, Jr. He discovered his vocal talent in a peculiar month long experience at age 16, while attending a Catholic seminary for Gregorian chant classes in Pennsylvania. Ryan is a charismatic, raw talent dedicated to his musical career and his passion can be seen in how he meets and greets with his crowds, fans and friends.

Warner Bros. Records/Warner Music Nashville country artist Chris Janson was born to entertain crowds. Last year, his breakthrough #1 Platinum single “Buy Me A Boat” was the 7th bestselling country song of the year, although his professional music career began more than 10 years ago.
The “Holdin’ Her” singer has written multiple top-charting hits including “Truck Yeah” (Tim McGraw), “That's How I'll Always Be” (Tim McGraw), “I Love This Life” (LoCash), and over 25 additional hit songs recorded by a long list of established artists.
Janson has been nominated for multiple awards and won Country Song of the Year (“Buy Me a Boat”) at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. Janson is currently featured in the Country Music Hall of Fame as part of the ACM Gallery. He plays every instrument on stage, and is best known for his signature harmonica playing.
Additionally, Janson has played the Grand Ole Opry more than 145 times to date, and made numerous television appearances including: The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers, CONAN, The Today Show, ACM Awards and ACCA Awards.
Sun-kissed sweet iced tea, vividly-colored autumn leaves, rowdy and raucous Saturday college football games and the magical warmth of the family-filled holiday season bring to mind images of down-home, small-town charm and laid back, easy living… A place where everybody knows your name and the best things in life are free. With her roots firmly planted in the rich clay of her Alabama hometown, just outside of Montgomery, acclaimed singer-songwriter and entertainer, Donica Knight embodies all of these images: part sassy “tomboy” and sports fanatic, part southern supermodel and sweetheart, and 100% driven, talented and seasoned professional. With the January 2016 release of her brand new EP, the aptly titled Can’t Buy a Southern Girl, Donica is showcasing her unique blend of Southern rock, country, blues and old East Memphis music. Born and raised in the small town of Decatur, Alabama, Brandon Henson, early in life never visioned himself as a touring country artist. Growing up as any country boy would, Brandon enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding horses, playing sports, and racing motocross. Through his high school years, Brandon engaged in Football, as his favorite sport where he played Tight End/Wide Reciever, as well as being apart of the Mount Hope High School FFA team.
Upon graduation from high school in 2007, Brandon had no idea what his life and future would hold, as well as not knowing which way to turn for the next chapter.
Starting at Calhoun Community College the following fall, Brandon studied the Basic Subjects of Business, before becoming a father to his son, Cayden Lane, in 2009. With the duties of juggling being a father, work-life and school, Brandon decided to post-pone his education and enter the industrial workforce full time. Shortly after the decision was made, Brandon welcomed his second child into the world, his daughter, Barkley Rae, whom was born in 2011. As life went about it's ways, Brandon was happy, full of joy and excitement, and loved being a father to his children. [READ MORE]

Trace Adkins’ trademark baritone has powered countless hits to the top of the charts and sold over 10 million albums, cumulatively. His hit list includes “You're Gonna Miss This,” “Ladies Love Country Boys,” “Songs About Me,” “Every Light In The House,” “Hillbilly Bone (Blake Shelton & Trace Adkins),” and “Just Fishin’,” to name a few. The Grammy-nominated member of the Grand Ole Opry is a TV personality, actor, author, spokesman for the Wounded Warrior Program and the American Red Cross, for whom he raised over $1.5 million dollars as winner of NBC’s All-Star Celebrity Apprentice. In recent years, Adkins has performed 10 USO Tours.
In his 2007 autobiography, A Personal Stand: Observations and Opinions from a Freethinking Roughneck, the former oil-rigger recounted his rise to fame, brushes with death, and battles with personal demons. Trace has played a tough as nails biker in The Lincoln Lawyer (starring Matthew McConaughey), and a wise oracle of a tattoo artist in the family-friendly film Moms' Night Out (starring Patricia Heaton, Sean Astin, Sarah Drew). He also developed and hosted GAC’s “Great American Heroes” honoring every-day heroes.
If you want to get to know AARON LEWIS, just listen to The Road. On his first full-length album, the Grammy Award-nominated, multi-platinum singer, songwriter, and guitarist tells one story after another. Echoing traditional country, some of those tales are hilarious and heartwarming, while others are pensive and personal. Nevertheless, they're all equally powerful, vibrant, and unforgettable. For Lewis, The Road continues to wind and surprise like it always has.
In 2011, the Staind frontman formally arrived in the country world with the release of his debut EP, Town Line. Highlighted by the success of gold-selling single "Country Boy" featuring the legendary George Jones and Charlie Daniels, the seven-song EP reached #1 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart and #7 on the Billboard Top 200 upon release. Critical praise followed: PEOPLE’s Chuck Arnold said, "He proves to be a natural on nostalgic ballads like 'The Story Never Ends,’ (3/14/11)," while the ASSOCIATED PRESS’ Michael McCall wrote, “He injects a flavor of his own into a polished, commercial country sound in a way that could win over country fans who've never heard of Staind (2/28/11).”
Lewis also received two Academy of Country Music nominations for "Vocal Event of the Year" for "Country Boy" (for his work as artist and as co-producer) as well as two CMT nominations--one for "USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year" and another for "Collaborative Video of the Year." Simultaneously, the music video for the single stirred similar fan fervor, surpassing 12 million views on YouTube and 3 million on CMT.com. After a whirlwind year, Lewis began working on what would become The Road in the fall of 2011.
In many ways, The Road brings things full circle for Lewis. In Staind, he has made an indelible mark on hard rock. The group has sold 13 million albums worldwide, yielding four consecutive top 3 debuts on the Billboard Top 200 as well as numerous radio hits. Their single "It's Been Awhile" also remains the most-played rock song of the decade. Still, this new chapter proves cyclical for Lewis, actually bringing him back to the first style of music he'd heard: country music.
Now, he's carrying on a tradition of storytelling and songwriting himself. "I'm really hoping the songs speak for themselves," he concludes. "I hope people hear the record and realize that this is all me. There's nothing more to say. I'm just writing songs like I have been for my whole career."
That's all he really has to do. For Aaron Lewis, The Road looks brighter than ever.
We're very excited to announce our 2015 Fall Event! This year, it's all going down on the spookiest of all holidays: Halloween!

When country music lovers talk about the greatest groups in the genre, Shenandoah is always at the forefront of any discussion. Fueled by Marty Raybon’s distinctive vocals and the band’s skilled musicianship, Shenandoah became well known for delivering such hits as “Two Dozen Roses”, “Church on Cumberland Road” and “Next to You, Next to Me” as well as such achingly beautiful classics as “I Want to be Loved Like That” and the Grammy winning “Somewhere in the Vicinity of the Heart” duet with Alison Krauss.
Today that legacy continues as original members Raybon and Mike McGuire reunite to launch a new chapter in Shenandoah’s storied career. It all began when the guys got back together to perform a benefit concert for a friend battling cancer. “We saw how folks reacted,” Raybon says of the response to their reunion. “And then Jerry Phillips, son of legendary Sun Records producer Sam Phillips, said ‘You guys need to make a run at this. People still love what you do. You can tell by the reaction. There’s a lot of excitement in the air.’” [read more here].
We are very excited to welcome back the unbeatable energy that is Mustang Sally!
When you attend a Mustang Sally show, you are transported away from everyday life and into the world that Mustang Sally inhabits: a world where dancing on the bar is encouraged, and spontaneity is king. People are transformed from spectators into participants through interactive songs both edgy and poignant. Mustang Sally has performed alongside high profile names such as Montgomery Gentry, Gretchen Wilson, Big & Rich, and Blake Shelton, in addition to being demanded worldwide as fair and festival headliners, receiving a standing ovation at the Kickin' up Kountry Festival in Thief River Falls, MN, and playing to sold out crowds at the Havelock Country Jamboree in Havelock, Ontario.
They routinely perform over 200 dates a year, and have toured the U.S. from coast to coast, as well as Europe and Asia. The ladies have also been featured in Country Weekly Magazine and gave the magazine staff a private concert. “We enjoyed the hell out of the girls,” were the words of Larry Holden, Editor in Chief of Country Weekly. “What great gals—to go along with amazing vocals, outstanding lyrics and one of the tightest bands on the planet.” While the music of Mustang Sally appeals to all ages and walks of life, the girls take particular pride in writing songs that “tell it like it is” for women.
Mustang Sally's dedication to their fans can be seen at every show; post-show autograph lines often look more like family reunions as the ladies joke and catch up with returning audience members.
Lead singer Tobi Lee puts it best: “We have the best job in the world, and without our fans, we wouldn’t work!”
Kevin Sport grew up in the small town of Greenville, Al and started singing and performing when he was in grammar school. His love for music and entertaining lead him to Nashville, TN where he worked as a songwriter and demo singer for two different publishing companies. Kevin experienced performing not only in Nashville but New York City and was on his way to seeing where his dream would take him. As life unfolded Kevin’s first attempt at chasing his dream didn’t turn out like he’d hoped. The stresses of life took a toll and he quit. He threw his guitar under the bed, stopped singing, and stopped writing and pursued another path. What Kevin realized later is at the heart of what he’s doing now. As life moved forward many events lead Kevin right back to the dream that was put in his heart from the beginning. Only this time, he wasn’t turning back. He was going to see it through because he was seeing it through a different set of eyes. Being in the right place is not a destination, it is a journey. It’s all about doing what was put in your heart to do in order to be a part of a bigger story as well as making the world around you better. Kevin is doing this through music and entertainment, and just like you, he’s seeing where his journey will take him.
Kevin wanted to produce a brand with this simple message. “The Right Place with Kevin Sport” has on guest who share their talent and/or story in a way that connects. The conversations and moments they share engage the viewer to think about themselves and the people in their life. Through our musical guest or special guest, or live performance, our passion is to not only to leave people entertained but
touched, inspired, and encouraged….Because, “When you are following your Dream, Your God given Dream, You are Always in The Right Place”.
See Kevin on RFDtv every Saturday at 4:00pm on his hit show, The Right Place with Kevin Sport.
Every once in a while, a group of musicians will come together and the chemistry will just fall into place. Such is the case with this band from Bell Buckle, TN, Judge Talford Band (JTB). It is the collective goal of the band to make good music that they enjoy playing and that people enjoy listening to. The band takes the listener on a musical journey through time without leaving one’s seat. This is done with instruments that are traditionally considered bluegrass instruments, rich vocal harmonies with influences that span multiple genres, and an entertaining stage show. They have already received favorable reviews from the most important people in the industry, the audience.
The musical style of JTB is a product of the guys’ varied musical influences. With influences including Alabama, Alison Krauss, Dan Tyminski, James Taylor, Delbert McClinton, Dr. John, Jimmy Buffett, Dire Straits, George Strait and The Eagles, it’s no wonder that this band sounds so much different than most traditional bluegrass bands. Although the band does perform several crossover songs, they should not be mistaken for a cover band. Each song is treated to the band’s ecclectic musical interpretation. They have a way of taking any song and making it their own. They also perform several originals written by members of the band, as well as others.
JTB has appeared on several nationally televised shows. The first, “Song of the Mountain,” is viewed in over 190 markets nationwide on the PBS network of stations. Another notable television appearance was on the “Shotgun Red” television show, which is seen on RFD Television. In 2010, the band opened the SPBGMA Awards show. The band was also selected as showcase alternates at the NACA (National Association for Campus Activities) convention. This is voted on and awarded by a panel of college students. 2013 marks the band’s first appearance at Dollywood’s Celebrity Theater, 2014 at Silver Dollar City and Eddie’s Attic and the band released a new album in June 2014.
Judge Talford Band is a perfect fit for your next event. Whether it is a Fair, music festival, corporate function, college or university function, music hall, theater, church, cruise ship or private party, JTB will tailor their stage show to meet your specific needs. Visit www.judgetalfordband.com for more information on JTB. Also, be sure to visit their website (www.judgetalford.com), Facebook and YouTube pages.
